Heritage Consultant / Conservator / Senior Lecturer

Dr Cathy Daly is a conservator and heritage researcher specialising in the impacts of climate change on cultural heritage, including vulnerability assessment, monitoring and adaptive management.

As Senior Lecturer in Conservation at the University of Lincoln and a consultant for Lincoln Conservation, Cathy combines teaching, consultancy and research. Her professional experience includes museum conservation, private consultancy and research excavations.

Cathy's doctoral research developed and applied methods for site-level assessment and measurement of climate change vulnerabilities at Ireland's two World Heritage sites, building on her Master's in World Heritage from the University of Cottbus, Germany. Her current research continues to focus on climate change impacts on heritage assets and approaches to monitoring and adaptive management. She is a member of the ICOMOS Climate Action Working Group, an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a former founding member of the Irish National Blue Shield Committee (2011-2018), and an IMI Certified Mediator (2023).

Conservator / Heritgae Scientist / Senior Lecturer

Dr Lynda Skipper FIIC is a conservator and heritage scientist specialising in preventive conservation, historic materials analysis and the scientific investigation of cultural heritage. She helps museums, heritage organisations and conservation professionals better understand, monitor and care for collections, historic interiors and buildings through evidence-led conservation.

As Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the BA and Integrated Masters in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University of Lincoln, Lynda combines consultancy, teaching and collaborative research with extensive professional conservation experience. 

Lynda is co-author of Experimental Design and Scientific Data Analysis, part of the Science for Conservators series. Her current research explores the bioreceptivity of stone, environmentally sustainable biocides, historic wallpapers, pigments and historic materials.

Conservator / Senior Lecturer

Henning Schulze is a furniture and wooden objects conservator with more than 35 years’ experience across the public, private and higher education sectors. He specialises in the conservation and technical examination of wooden interiors, furniture and floors.

As Senior Lecturer in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University of Lincoln and a consultant for Lincoln Conservation, Henning combines practical conservation and consultancy with teaching and programme development. He has worked and taught internationally in Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and the United States, and as a visiting lecturer in Beijing and Lisbon. His project experience includes the conservation and reinstallation of the fifteenth-century Gubbio Studiolo at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, technical investigations of historic interiors in Cologne and Potsdam, and the examination and conservation of medieval woodwork at Ripon Cathedral and All Saints Church, Cadney.
